Weight Loss Gone Bad- The Truth About Diet Pills

Wednesday, October 14th, 2009

Diet pills and fat loss will not work unless nutrition and exercise is there
Weight loss pills have been around for years. It’s a multi-billion dollar industry every year. And it is showing no signs of slowing down. With Americans weighing in more and more every year at the current rate for adult obesity ranging around 25%. 1 in 4. 23 states actually increased their obesity rates from 2007 to 2008 and not a single state actually decreased.

So as you can see weight loss pills are here to stay. With millions and millions of people trying to lose weight and excess body fat the industry will only get richer. Diet pill companies get rich and richer off of fat people trying to lose weight

But what is a good weight loss pill. Is it an actual weight loss pill, a fat burner, a hunger suppressant, or another type?

It’s true there are some bogus companies out there trying to make a quick buck on people’s pain and suffering. That’s true with all types of industries. But the people that buy into these fly-by-night companies and their savvy marketing campaign diet pill companies marketing to overweight people play on emotions and sell them fat burners that don\'t help lose weightget sucked in, the pill doesn’t work, and they feel even worse now.

What is a person to do?

Make A Wish Foundation of Central Ohio Columbus Pumpkin Workout for Charity in Hilliard and Dublin put on by Jason Yun

“If you don’t think you can get a good workout in from just a pumpkin think again. A pumpkin can be used to simulate a medicine ball,” says owner and head trainer of Yun Fitness Bootcamps, Jason Yun. “Obviously some of the throwing exercises can’t be performed with a pumpkin, but beginners and experienced athletes, alike, will ‘feel the burn’. Working out on a consistent basis is not easy, but finding ways to keep your workouts interesting, like using a pumpkin, will definitely help.”

The workout will be made even more interesting if the participants decide to wear their Halloween costumes. The costumes are optional, but will add some interesting flavor to the workout. “Imagine walking by the park and seeing a clown, princess or Dracula doing jump squats with a bright, orange pumpkin. It will be quite a scene,” remarked Yun.

The Halloween event benefits the Make-A-Wish Foundation® of Greater Ohio, Kentucky & Indiana, Central Ohio Region, which is an organization Yun works closely with and personally supports. Minimum donations of at least $15 are required to join the workout.

Women are encouraged to bring a pumpkin in the range of 10 pounds and men closer to the 20 pound range. The Freaky Fat-Loss Halloween Pumpkin Workout is open to everybody in Columbus and the surrounding area. For more information, please visit http://www.yunbootcamps.com/pumpkinworkout.html or email jyun@yunbootcamps.com.

Columbus Bootcamp Instructor tells you how to get results from your weight loss program

Wednesday, May 20th, 2009

I have helped a whole lot of people get into the best shape of their lives. Weather they wanted to lose weight/body fat, improve conditioning, performance, energy levels, or just feel better overall I have done it. So I know what it takes for people to lose unwanted body fat and look better naked faster than most. A big reason for this is the fact that I incorporate nutrition along with exercise. A lot of trainers are all about exercise and don’t give or have a nutritional system in place. Nutrition is by far the most important aspect in the fat loss game. But when combined with exercise your results will be even more profound. I’m going to share some things with you today that must be in place before you start a fitness and nutrition program.

So how do I manage to help my client’s get the results they seek? It’s not just my incredible nutrition and bootcamp system. It works, yes. But you have to be able to start. That’s the most important aspect. If you never start, you will never see results. After you start you need to stick with it. So it really comes down to goals. Making them, following through with them, and achieving them.

Before I start with the process needed to set goals, I know a lot of you will stop reading now. But let me stress, that goal setting is not a useless, time-wasting thing. The most successful people in life will set goals, daily, weekly, monthly, and yearly. And I’m not just talking about weight loss; I’m talking overall success in life– Business, family, friends, social, money, fitness, and fun! Goals allow you to plan for roadblocks, and give you your map to success. Without a map you will get lost. That’s why most people give up on their New Year’s resolution soon after the New Year– They have no map. So let’s start, shall we?

WHY- WHAT REASON ARE YOU DOING THIS?

NO- You can’t just say ‘ you want to lose weight’. That is unacceptable. If you come to me, I already know that. I need to know the real reason. I need to know why you are going to all of sudden start a fitness and nutrition program and commit to it, when you haven’t been able to in the past.

Everybody wants to feel good about themselves, and look sexy. It’s probably the #1 motivator of people out there (although it should be getting healthy). Most people want to look better to the opposite sex. It’s human nature.

So write out the real reason you want to do this. ‘I want to lose weight because ______”. It can be any reason really. You want to fit into a pair of jeans you haven’t been able to for years. You want to be bikini ready. You want to lose that gut. Your getting married. Your high school reunion is coming up. You want to look better for your spouse. And the list goes on and on.

It all starts with the WHY. Get that down and everything after that is easier.

Is Your Body Ready For Summertime, Columbus?!

Thursday, May 14th, 2009

Winter is over. Spring is almost over. Bathing suit season will soon be upon us. Have you lost that holiday weight yet? Have you put on a little extra in the first five months of 2009?
Summer time, Columbus, time for bathing suits

Well if so don’t you think it’s about time to change? Are you ready to slip into that bikini this summer? Or take that shirt off at the pool without being embarrassed?
Summertime is the time lose weight for Columbus residents

A good fitness routine will help you drop 4-8 pounds of unsightly body fat. But the most important aspect when it comes to losing body fat is intensity. It’s actually the most important factor weather or not your fitness program will be successful.

Now when it comes to intensity, nothing beats fitness bootcamps. Don’t expect to come into a class full of ‘easy’. ‘Easy’ is running on a treadmill for 30 minutes strait.

Bootcamp is 45 minutes of high-intensity intervals, weight training, abs, glutes, and thighs circuits. Everyday is different. It keeps the body guessing. Soreness is common. You get stronger faster and have fun. Again– you have fun while exercising.
Med Ball exercises intense

But where do you find such a place in Columbus?

The premier bootcamp in Columbus is Yun Fitness Boot Camps (yunbootcamps.com), based out of Hilliard, OH.

The class is taught inside a Martial Arts Studio for the morning camps and outside for the evening classes. Classes include various types of people from all different walks of life. From age 14 up to early 60′s. Men, women, children, students. Two people even drive down every morning from Springfield for the camp. Yes, it’s that good.

The camp is taught by Jason Yun, who is also the owner of the company. He is a certified personal trainer and sports nutritionist. He adds even more to classes by providing his students nutrition handouts every week, and also has a 12-week nutrition course that has helped his students results skyrocket.

What makes people try this bootcamp workout? Like the various people in the class, the reasons are also different. Some have tried the Jenny Craig’s, Weight Watchers, Atkins, and every other diet under the sun and not seen results. Others can’t work out on their own, and need some motivation and accountability. Some can’t stand the gym and the same old boring routine. For others the gym is too intimidating for them.

The first impression you get from Yun’s bootcamp is a good one. For starters your first 2-weeks are free. Next each class starts off with a dynamic warmup– body weight movements to get the blood flowing to the major muscles and joints of the body. Hips, shoulders, knees, and low back need to be warmed for the pre-planned intervals to come. After about 6-12 minutes of intervals we move into the main workout of the day. Which will vary everyday but will include at least 6 different stations and/or exercise of varying difficulty. But all exercises are easily modified for beginners.

The program is guaranteed or your money back.

The next class starts May 26th. Spots will be limited for new campers and it is a first-come, first-served basis. So register online on soon as you can.

Visit http://www.yunbootcamps.com/specialoffer.html to register for 2-weeks free of Yun Fitness Bootcamps. Jason Yun is a certified strength and conditioning specialist and sports nutritionist. He is the owner of Yun Strength and Fitness Systems, LLC where he has helped 100′s of people get into the best shape of their lives.

Fat killing ninja pills

Wednesday, April 15th, 2009

So another new year is upon us. Untold numbers of people are “resolving” to win the battle of the bulge this year.

Some people are actually laying out a solid plan based on exercise and nutrition.

Others are going to go on yet another fad diet.

Even worse, lots and lots of soon to be disheartened folks will be turning to the latest miracle pill they’ve seen on TV or the Internet.

It’s sad really.

The marketing for these pills gets cranked up to full blast now that it’s January. These far less than reputable companies know how desperate people are. And they certainly know how much greater that desperation becomes in January.

Look, you and I know better. We know that the only way you’re going to Kung Fu that fat off your belly, butt, hips and thighs is to eat right and exercise.

Know what else is sad?

Once people come to grips with the fact they’ve been ripped off over and over by these “miracle” diet pill companies, oftentimes they’ll refuse to listen to reason about nutritional products that have actual benefits.

For instance, did you know that Essential Fatty Acid products help promote fat loss through the stabilization of blood sugar levels?

And that they may also help regulate mood, improve heart health and decrease joint pain?

If people are looking for a pill to take – one that is actually based on research – they should strongly consider adding an Essential Fatty Acids product to their diet.

I’m asked all the time what I use and it’s Prograde’s EFA Icon (you can read more about it here: http://jasonyun.getprograde.com/icon

Again, I know you’re to smart to fall for the gimmicks, but if you know of anyone trying a diet pill this January, or any month really, please tell them to get real. They’ll be better off for it.

15 rules of fat loss

Sunday, April 12th, 2009

15 Rules for Fat Loss

Follow these simple tips from registered dietitian Jayson Hunter, the Head of Research and Development for Prograde Nutrition, for fat loss and a lean and healthy body.

1- Eat 4-6 small meals during a day instead of the usual 2-3 large meals. Eating frequently will help regulate and boost your metabolism to burn more calories.

2- Consume whole foods that are high in fiber and low in sugar, such as lean protein sources (lean beef, chicken, fish, and whey protein), fruits & vegetables (oranges, apples, strawberries, blueberries, broccoli, peppers, asparagus, carrots, nuts (almonds, cashews, & walnuts), and whole grains.

3- Eat low-glycemic carbohydrates such as vegetables, whole-wheat products and oatmeal instead of refined processed carbohydrates which usually come in a box or a bag.

4- Consume 25-35 grams of fiber per day. Fiber will help satisfy hunger pangs as well as control insulin and blood sugar levels which tend to promote fat storage.

5- Eat some type of lean protein at each meal. Protein helps to satisfy hunger and provide the necessary building blocks to maintain lean body mass while losing body fat.

6- Consume adequate amounts of healthy fat foods such as olive oil, walnuts, almonds, Omega-3 fortified eggs or other Omega-3 products. Healthy fats are great antioxidants as well as help with brain function and many other essentials processes that take place in the body on a daily basis. Essential Fatty acids also help prevent certain diseases.

To guarantee you’re consuming enough Omega-3 supplement your diet with EFA Icon.

7. Eat 5-10 servings of fruit and vegetables a day to meet your micronutrient needs. Vegetables also contain a good amount of fiber and help to control appetites and curb hunger.
Additionally, VGF25+ provides the power-packed nutrition of 25 whole vegetables, greens and fruits in a convenient “super pill.” Click here to check it out

8. Consume Green Tea or Water instead of calorie filled drinks such as soft drinks. Green Tea has many health benefits and should be drinking 1ml of non-caffeinated fluid for every calorie that you consume.
This works out between (8-12) 8oz glasses of Green Tea or Water a day.

9. Balance your fat intake for the day. 1/3 should come from saturated fats, 1/3 from monounsaturated fats, and 1/3 from polyunsaturated fats.
Again, ensure you’re consuming Anti-Oxidant rich Omega-3 Essential Fatty Acids by incorporating EFA Icon into your nutritional plan.

10- Consistent fat loss requires good habits. If you want to create good habits then you need plan. Therefore, map out your meals every day and follow them. If you follow your plan everyday for 2-3 weeks you will form habits that become part of your daily routine and part of your life.
Incorporate “superfoods” into your meal plan on a daily basis. Some examples are salmon, low-fat plain yogurt, tomatoes, spinach, mixed berries, whole oats, mixed nuts, olive oil, flax seeds(or flax meal), green tea, and various beans.
Many of the super nutrition found in these “superfoods” are also found in VGF25+.

11- Keep total fat intake under 30% for the day. This can easily be accomplished by avoiding “extra” fats such as butter, sour cream, mayonnaise… This doesn’t mean you have to completely eliminate these items, just use them sparingly and avoid adding them to foods whenever possible.

12- EXERCISE! Yes, you can lose weight just by changing your eating habits. But very few people succeed long-term – and it takes much longer to lose fat – when they don’t exercise.

13- And something most people don’t realize is, just how critical ingesting the research proven Protein to Carbohydrate ratio is to optimizing the results of your workout efforts. CLICK HERE TO READ ABOUT…ProGrade Workout.

14- Record what you eat and drink. You will be amazed by what you find. Keeping a food journal is critical to your success because you need it to evaluate and analyze your current eating patterns.
If your fat loss efforts are stagnant the answer can usually be found in your food journal.

15- Follow the 90% rule. If you can follow your plan 90% of the time you will soon see unwanted fat melt off your body. However, if you find yourself breaking these rules more than 90% of the time your chances of failing increase significantly.

Jason Yun, the owner of Yun Boot Camps, has been running the camps since July last year and is preparing to take some of his morning camps and all of his evening camps back outside. ‘People really seem to love being outdoors to train. It brings out the true sense of bootcamp training in that it is supposed to be different and not feel like a typical gym workout,’ Yun says.

And the boot camp is hardly typical. April will mark the 4th phase of camps in 2009 for Yun and his campers and everyday is more different, fun, and challenging then the next. Exercises include squats, pushups, bear crawls, burpees, plyometrics, and list too big to name the rest. Equipment is a trademark at Yun’s Boot Camp with kettlebells, medicine balls, bands, agility ladders, sandbags, and starting in April sledgehammers, ropes, tornado balls, and kegs.
kettlebells are for women to help burn fat
