Fat killing ninja pills

So another new year is upon us. Untold numbers of people are “resolving” to win the battle of the bulge this year.

Some people are actually laying out a solid plan based on exercise and nutrition.

Others are going to go on yet another fad diet.

Even worse, lots and lots of soon to be disheartened folks will be turning to the latest miracle pill they’ve seen on TV or the Internet.

It’s sad really.

The marketing for these pills gets cranked up to full blast now that it’s January. These far less than reputable companies know how desperate people are. And they certainly know how much greater that desperation becomes in January.

Look, you and I know better. We know that the only way you’re going to Kung Fu that fat off your belly, butt, hips and thighs is to eat right and exercise.

Know what else is sad?

Once people come to grips with the fact they’ve been ripped off over and over by these “miracle” diet pill companies, oftentimes they’ll refuse to listen to reason about nutritional products that have actual benefits.

For instance, did you know that Essential Fatty Acid products help promote fat loss through the stabilization of blood sugar levels?

And that they may also help regulate mood, improve heart health and decrease joint pain?

If people are looking for a pill to take – one that is actually based on research – they should strongly consider adding an Essential Fatty Acids product to their diet.

I read this book back in late 2008, and thought I should share it with you. It’s a wonderful reference that i keep going back to again and again. It’s called
‘The 150 Healthiest Foods on Earth: The Surprising, Unbiased Truth About What You Should Eat and Why’ by Jonny Bowden.

Like I said I keep going back to it again and again as I try and add new foods into my diet each month. Some foods I like, some I love, some not so much. But it’s fun trying new healthy foods that actually taste good, it keeps me sane, and I don’t feel the need to cheat on my diet (not that I do it too often).

It’s not a cookbook, either. He just goes over each food and tells you why you should be eating it. If your a fan of coffee, wine, and chocolate there in it too. And he also goes over foods that you shouldn’t be eating, or should be eating less of– soy being one. Check it out:

Hamburger Party Style!

I received this from Registered Dietitian Jayson Hunter and author of the Carb Rotation Diet. It is a new look at an old food. Meals don’t have to be boring as Jayson describes below.

“I was in the airport last week and found something on a menu called the Fiesta Burger and I thought I would let you know about this recipe to help with your meal boredom.

I thought I would give it a try and I have to say it added some great flavor to an ordinary burger.

If you are looking for some new recipe ideas then give the fiesta burger a try.

The fiesta burger is a normal hamburger topped with some salsa.

You could choose your own salsa whether it be mild, medium or hot salsa depending on your love of spicy foods.

It can also fit on a high carb, low carb or no carb day just by choosing whether or not you have a bun or not with it.

It actually doesn’t need a bun if you have the salsa with the hamburger patty.

You could also try this combination with chicken as well.

Some other suggestions I received from my subscribers was to try a burger with fat free feta cheese, garlic, a few other spices. Cook it on the grill. Then topped it with sauted onions and portabello mushrooms……no bun. Finish off the plate with a small amount of oven cooked sweet potato “french fries”, roasted asparagus, and a salad.”

Stupid ‘Slimming’ Snack advice

It’s no wonder people are so overweight. It’s no wonder people don’t have the flat stomach they crave. It’s no wonder people don’t look as good naked as they would like or dream.

With TV commercials as misleading as they are it’s really no shock whatsoever.

You’re inundated with crummy information and myths every time you turn on the TV. And unfortunately if your like the typical American that is way too often.

A while back they were running a commercial for some silly Rice Puff product. It was in an office setting and someone had brought in cupcakes for everyone to enjoy.

One woman looked worried she was going to ruin her “diet” because of the temptation and decided to “fill up” on a Rice Puff product.

Come on. You’re smarter than that. You know darn well that a rice puff thingy is going to fill you up and stop you from stuffing your face.

For one thing, you need to expect these situations to arise. Whether you want six pack abs or just want to get to a perfectly healthy weight, you have to have a plan for temptation. Temptation is pretty much every where you go, especially if you live a major city– Fast food, mini marts, grocery stores, parties, events, etc…. It never ends.

Second, that means you need to plan meals so you aren’t completely starving when someone brings cupcakes to your office or something. It’s been quite a while since I had a cupcake. If your tempted easily, knowing this is the start you need. Turn it around and make it a priority to be prepared!

You know you need to eat small, frequent and nutritious meals if you really want to achieve fat loss, and look better naked.

Michael Phelps wins gold but caught smoking pot

So by now you’ve probably heard that Olympic champion Michael Phelps has gotten himself into a little bit of hot (bong) water. I felt I couldn’t let this opportunity slip by without sharing some lessons from his mishap.

First, we all have to remember that we’re role models. Somebody somewhere is looking up to us for guidance. It’s a shame Michael Phelps screwed up, but he did. What’s done is done. I know it reminded me that as a fitness pro, I MUST lead by example.

Second, again, he screwed up. And while I’m not one to give people a million chances, I do believe in second chances. And forgiveness. Which, when it comes to melting fat and getting fit, is VERY important.

I can tell you from experience working with hundreds of people with similar goals to yours, you WILL screw up somewhere along the way. The key to success is to forgive yourself and move forward. The people who truly fail are the ones that just give up the first time they make a mistake.

Third, this has nothing to do with what Michael Phelps has recently done, but it’s another great reminder. If you want a lean, hard body and 6 pack abs, you’re going to need to WORK. Regardless of his recent actions Michael Phelps is an Olympic Champ because he worked his rear end off. Don’t fool yourself into thinking achieving your fitness goals is going to be a piece of cake.

Fourth, much was made during the Olympics of Michael Phelps and the massive amounts of calories he was consuming. If YOU want to get into peak condition you need the proper nutrition. Period.

Yes, I know it’s only the middle of February. But spring break will be here before you know it.

And so will summer.

Did you know some people absolutely DREAD bathing suit season? They literally get in hysterics over how they’re going to look in public.

Then as bathing suit season draws near they go for the latest fad diet, starve themselves all summer long, and when Autumn comes, well, they eat so much they gain back way more weight than they lost!

Now I hope that’s not the case with you.

And I want to fill you in on a little secret that will make this bathing suit season much different for you.

Here it is: You need written goals and a plan.

Simple, right? Well, I hope you’re not rolling your eyes at me. Do you know how many people in life have written goals and plans? Not many?

And when it comes to looking great in a bathing suit season – and doing it the natural and healthy way – you absolutely, positively MUST have those goals and a plan.

Columbus Boot Camp Trainer Reveals 8 Healthy Super Bowl Party Tips

It’s Super Bowl time! The teams are set: Pittsburgh and Arizona. The date is set February 1, 2009. So that means its time to start planning your Super Bowl party. Lots of friends and lots of goodies. Parties like this can be tragic on you if you are trying to watch your weight. Why not make the partier a little healthier with some quick tips that can save you thousands of calories:

DRINK WATER: You want to make sure to drink plenty of water. About 2-4 cups before the party starts and drink regularly throughout the party. This will ensure a full stomach and will prevent overeating.

NO BUNS: Take the buns off for all sandwiches. Try a lettuce wrap, or just cut the meat up and eat it plain.

LEAN PROTEIN AND VEGGIES: Start with these items first. They will fill you up and cause you to not eat as much junk. You won’t be filled up with saturated and trans fats, or worthless sugar, instead you’ll be filled up with nutrient, fiber, and protein dense foods.

STAY AWAY FROM LIQUID CALORIES: Try and eliminate, or minimize greatly the fruit juices, pops, and alcohol. They usually don’t fill you up at all, and actually cause you to want more. Opt for the water, low-cal drinks, or have a piece of fruit instead.

DON’T EAT OUT OF THE BAG: Always put your portions on a plate. Eating out of a bag or container you can’t control the portion size and usually overeat big time. And with all the extra excitement and distractions around it will usually be multiplied.

DIPS ARE A NO-NO: Instead of cheese, dressings, or dips opt for guacamole. It is super healthy with healthy fats and fiber that will fill you up quicker and make you feel satisfied.

STICK WITH WHOLE GRAINS RATHER THAN WHITE: If you are serving, or eating, chips, breads, rice, tortillas, or pasta try and make it a whole wheat/grain version. They’re packed with more fiber, vitamins, minerals, and overall healthier for you. It will fill you up faster.

HAVE HEALTHY SNACK BARS OR MEAL REPLACEMENTS: Serving up and having the option for healthy snacks are always good for the host. The guests will probably look better at you for having the option. Food snack bars like Prograde Cravers, Lara bars, Cliff Bars, and other such items will make the healthier people their feel more comfortable, and make the experience more enjoyable.

Don’t fall for companies lies! Follow the Good Guys!

Doesn’t it seem these days that almost no companies do what they say they are going to do? Don’t you enjoy working with and buying from companies that have their priorities straight? Companies that sell legitimate products and aren’t just in it to make a fast buck.

Look, I’m a fitness professional. I’m selling bootcamp classes, nutrition classes, patience, discipline, sacrifice, happiness, health, and looking better naked ;)

It’s not the world’s easiest sale, that’s for sure. I’d make a LOT more money if I sold you Miracles in a Bottle or told you that you can eat any and all foods you want and still lose weight (I’m sure you have seen the commercials or radio ad BS) :evil:

In other words, if I lied to your face, took your money and ran.

But I won’t do that – ever. I have too much character and integrity for that. We’re the “Good Guys” in this marketplace.
