Healthy Donuts? Yeah, Right!

Yesterday I saw something I couldn’t believe. At work, somebody brought in a box of Krispy Kreme Donuts. No big deal, this happens on a regular basis, I rarely ever notice. But I did this time, the box was closed, which was unusual, and on the box it said ‘NOW WITH NO TRANS FATS!’ in the corner.

Seriously? You know what’s sad is that some people will now actually think that donuts are good for you, or at least better now, because they take out trans fats. Yes, trans fats are extremely bad, and they need to be taken out of everything. But a donut is still a donut. There still glazed, chocolate or some-kind of sweet coating covered, sprinkles, jelly-filled, cheese-filled (even maybe, I don’t know), sugar infested, blood sugar raising, insulin producing donuts.

What’s next probably will be KFC putting on their buckets of chicken ‘NOW WITH NO CARBS!’ Ridiculous! Once in a while a cheat meal is ok, and recommended for sanity. But putting claims on foods when it already is extremely bad for you is irresponsible. Granted the people putting this junk in themselves are just as responsible for their actions. It just irks me, and I had to get it off my chest.
